The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) 2026 beneficiary list has been updated with new names added across both rural and urban sectors.
Families who applied for a pucca house under this government housing scheme can now check whether their name has been included in the latest list through the official portal.
The updated list is available for both PMAY Gramin (rural) and PMAY Urban categories. Beneficiaries whose names appear in the new list will receive financial assistance directly in their linked bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
How Much Financial Assistance Is Provided
Under PM Awas Yojana Gramin, eligible families in plain areas receive ₹1.20 lakh while those in hilly, difficult, and IAP (Integrated Action Plan) areas receive ₹1.30 lakh for constructing a pucca house. An additional ₹12,000 is provided for toilet construction under the Swachh Bharat Mission convergence.
Under PM Awas Yojana Urban, eligible beneficiaries can receive up to ₹2.50 lakh in central assistance depending on the category and component they qualify under.
The government has approved continuation of PMAY Gramin from 2024 to 2029 with a target of building 2 crore additional houses in rural areas across India.

Who Is Eligible for PM Awas Yojana
The scheme is available to families that do not own a pucca house anywhere in India. Economically weaker sections (EWS) with annual household income up to ₹3 lakh and Low Income Group (LIG) families with income up to ₹6 lakh are eligible under the urban component.
For the rural component, beneficiaries are identified through the Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC) 2011 data and verified through gram sabha approvals.
Required documents include Aadhaar card, income certificate, bank account passbook, residence proof, and passport size photograph. Accurate documentation is essential as all payments are linked to Aadhaar verified bank accounts.
You can also check your PMAY status through the UMANG app at umang.gov.in which provides panchayat wise waiting lists and beneficiary details.
What to Do If Your Name Is in the List
If your name appears in the 2026 beneficiary list, the financial assistance will be released in installments directly to your Aadhaar linked bank account.
Ensure your bank account is active and linked to your Aadhaar number. Contact your gram panchayat or local municipal office for guidance on the next steps in house construction approval and fund disbursement.
